Sales Manager – Full Time/Permanent Position

Abbott has an immediate opening for the exciting role of Sales Manager. Reporting to the Director of Business Development and working out of our Toronto office, the Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales efforts and for accelerating sales growth for all of our products through all sales channels in Canada and the USA.

We are seeking a results-driven self-starter with a demonstrated track record of success in leading sales teams; a sound decision maker who is able to identify connections and trends and use them to advise/create new sales strategies; a relationship builder, communicator, negotiator and influencer; a leader with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. • Set strategic sales direction with Director of Business Development
• Set priorities for our business and our team within our B2B and Key Account channels
• Develop and execute sales plans and targets
• Develop and implement effective sales strategies
• Oversee the management of Key/National Accounts; Develop relationships at the executive level with key accounts
• Maintain a structure and appropriate balance between account maintenance and new business development
• Actively bring new productivity tools and processes to the Sales Team to accelerate success and fulfill company goals
• Manage the Sales Team to promote our products and grow sales according to our sales policies, procedures and established objectives.
• Mentor and support our team of independent Sales Reps with regular call cycle visits, goal setting techniques, and working with customers to enhance the Company’s profile and sales at retail

• Find/build new market opportunities
• Recruit, organize, train and manage employees and Sales Reps
• Review territory sales coverage to ensure efficient coverage of all accounts
• Analyze detailed monthly sales reports, make recommendations and take appropriate action
• Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
• Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to senior management
• Participate in national trade shows in both Canada and US


• Minimum 5 years of Sales Management experience in the B2B/Consumer Goods industry
• University or College degree, preferably in a business related discipline
• Proven track record in leading high performing teams in B2B sales
• Experience managing large national accounts
• Extroverted, outgoing personality with superior networking and relationship building ability
• Strong analytical and negotiation abilities
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Strong leadership and coaching skills
• Excellent planning, organizing, and time management skills

Product Merchandising Stylist

Here’s your chance to join our fresh and fabulous home décor company. Abbott has an immediate opening for the exciting role of Product Merchandising Stylist. We’re looking for a motivated individual with a passion for home décor, style and colours, and a creative eye, to design and create outstanding visual displays. The Stylist is responsible for merchandising the Toronto Showroom, Atlanta Showroom and designing, planning and executing our temporary 4800 sq. ft. booth at the CanGift Toronto Gift Fair.
This position requires travel to the US.

The Product Merchandising Stylist doesn’t work alone. We are a creative team of six. Designing and visualizing is the full responsibility of the Stylist, but the team works together in advance of product launches, social media themes and advertising. Our projects are challenging with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the rewards of our successes.

Toronto Showroom (open 5 days a week)
-Merchandise our entire product line. Rotate existing products and new products with each new launch.
-Ensure the showroom looks clean and organized daily. Replace worn out products, label products, etc.
-Ensure signage is displayed appropriately, according to programs and promotions

Atlanta Showroom (open twice a year during trade shows)
-Design features and displays at Toronto office, documenting with photographs and notes
-Assemble features and displays in Atlanta in preparation for trade show
-Ensure showroom is ready for sales team for trade show deadline

Toronto Trade Show (twice a year)
-Pre-plan displays over several months, work with various departments to ensure a successful execution of the show
-Create booth layout in a drafting program and assign product lines to specific display units
-Research and create aesthetically pleasing and saleable visual displays
-Pre-assemble, photograph and document feature display units and products to ensure easy reproduction on the booth
-Oversee completion of additional tasks including painting, custom builds, etc.
-Pre-merchandise units and displays wherever possible
-Liaise with florist to prop product at the show
-Lead team of coworkers in executing your design and vision

General Duties
-Run and analyze reports related to product sales and action appropriately
-Aid the Web Coordinator with product complements for the website
-Source new props and display items for use in showroom and shows
-Keep up to date on trends in design, home décor and related industries
-Provide feedback to Buying Department regarding new product suggestions
-Assist photographer with lifestyle photography
-Review product to be styled and organize props and location
-Research trends and ideas for lifestyle photography and displays

General Skills
-Proficient in Excel and Photoshop
-Can draw or use software to design and plan displays, features and booth layouts to scale
-Will need to use SketchUp (can be learned on the job)
-Creativity to design and execute displays. This can include wallpapering, working with tools, etc.
